Questions

What is this?
A public wall where you put one big, audacious goal on record, with a date. It is the place it all started. You can come back later to mark it achieved, or to attach your name once it turns out to matter.
Is it anonymous?
Yes, by default. You write a goal and nothing else is required. No account. You only attach a name if and when you choose to.
What does “on record” actually mean? Can the dates be faked?
Every published declaration gets a fingerprint built from its text, its date, and the fingerprint of the declaration before it. Change any past entry and every fingerprint after it breaks. So the order and the wording cannot be quietly edited after the fact. You can check the whole chain yourself on the verify page.
How do I know you did not just edit your own database?
Once a day we publish the latest fingerprint outside our own servers using OpenTimestamps, which records it on the Bitcoin blockchain, a public, permanent ledger. After that point, not even we can rewrite history without it being detectable by anyone.
Can I prove a declaration was mine?
When you post, you get a private link. Keep it. It is the key to your entry, and the only way to mark it achieved or attach your name later. We store only a fingerprint of it, never the link itself, so if you lose it the entry stays anonymous for good.
Who can see my email?
Nobody. Email is optional, used only to send you your link and any reminders you ask for. It never appears on the wall.
Can I delete my declaration later?
The record is meant to be permanent, but we honor genuine erasure requests. We delete the content and any contact details and keep only the fingerprint, a one-way code that cannot be turned back into your words, so the chain still verifies. See the privacy page.
What is not allowed?
We check new declarations before they reach the wall. Spam, links, and abuse do not get posted. The full list is in the content policy.
